The days are growing darker.

The storm clouds are a reference to a storm that happens in a different thread of Neela's, set about a day after this.

Neela was not in a good mood.

This wasn't particularly unusual in itself; ever since Julian had died Neela had rarely, if ever, been in a state of mind that could be described as happy. But since coming to Ichika she had mostly weathered the days with good cheer, getting the best that she could out of some of the darkest parts of her life.

Right now that good cheer was not present. It had been an extremely long day and repeatedly getting sidetracked left Neela in her current position; wandering through the wilds in the dark hours after she should have gotten back home by all rights, and more than a little lost.

And to make things worse is she squinted into the night sky she could just make out storm clouds boiling on the horizon. While her thick fur made light snowfall and settled snow enjoyable experiences for the collie she had no desire to be caught outside of Ichikan territory in a storm.

Grynn wasn't particularly happy either. There hadn't been a lot of small birds flying around for the falcon to feed upon and the bird was tired out from constantly taking off and landing again to help Neela find her way. Suddenly the falcon, who was currently circling overhead, suddenly let out a screech and swooped down into the trees.

Running forward toward the noise Neela found Grynn swooping down and around a wolf, occasionally darting towards the wolf more closely as though she intended to attack. Looking closely Neela could see a rat or mouse of some kind sitting on the strangers shoulder, likely twhat the hungry falcon was going for, but she didn’t really process it; she was tired, hungry and lost and now Grynn was picking a fight with some random stranger, she did not need this right now.

"Grynn! What the hell are you doing?!" Neela's voice rang out across the clearing, the last word tainted with a hint of anger more than the rest of the shout. At the sound of Neela's tone Grynn instantly broke off her attack, more for Neela's sake than her own. Grynn was perfectly capable of flying up to safety if Neela did ever loose control of her anger, but her burgeoning mental control was something that Neela was proud of, and loosing control would cause her more upset than the falcon was willing to inflict on her for a mouse.

Neela half processed Grynn breaking away and landing on her shoulder, the falcon letting out a soft crooning noise to comfort the agitated wolfdog, and instead turned her attention to the stranger that Grynn had been harassing. "Sorr-" Neela quickly cut herself off at the sound of the growl in her voice, taking a few seconds to calm herself before she started again, her voice more level this time. "Sorry about that. We've both been lost for a while now and I guess that Grynn was letting hungry," Neela gestured to the rat and tried to let a bit of humour show through her tone, though it was strained, "She didn’t hurt you did she>"
