It's a poo-ey post. xD WC: 601

Hanna too was on the prowl for game. Her chosen form was Optime, however, and her weapon, a bow and arrows. She had heard there was a trading caravan in town, and she was considering trading in for better arrows. These were simple flint-tipped ones she'd crafted. They didn't fly well; she was no woodcrafter, for all the other skills she had, and it would be good to finally have expertly-crafted ones. Still, to trade, one had to have her own offerings. Hanna would take pelts, she decided, which meant setting snares and hunting. The pack could use the meat as well. She had ridden out from Anathema atop Galilahi, laden only with ropes and weaponry, just before dawn to begin.

Dismounting, the Zepar stood tall and scented the air. She was in the heart of the Dampwoods, well south and east of Xahria's location, so there were many scents to behold, but she picked one from the rest, that of the deer that had passed through the evening before, east to west. She followed the scent for several miles, only losing it once or twice, before the herd came into view. It was relatively small, as deer herds went, with maybe a half-dozen members total, and they were still bedded down, though stirring. She hoped in the back of her mind she could take two - the meat would not go to waste, and it would be a fine start to her pelt collection for the Festival.

Silently, the huntress took a pair of arrows from her quiver. One she held in her mouth, lightly, while she nocked the other and pulled back the string. She picked her marks, two females who didn't appear to be carrying their stag's young, then quietly made her way just a little closer to them, the better to make a killing shot. Her wide paws minimized the amount she sank in the snow and thus the amount of noise in the still air from that. Finally she halted, raised the bow, pulled the string and let the first, then the second arrow fly. The first arrow struck well, just behind the doe's shoulderblade, and it bit deep. She would not go far, Hanna could tell when she took off, and her scarlet blood would be a tell-tale sign of her path. The second arrow did not pierce a vital area at all, instead burying itself in the front of the doe's thigh. She was crippled, however, and could only limp away.

Letting the first doe run, she dropped her bow to race up to the second, as she was near enough to sprint. She grabbed one long ear and pulled against it, withdrawing a dagger from her hip and slitting the doe's throat.high, near where it met her jaw. Then she began the task of tracking the doe that had run. A short time later, Hanna was back atop Galilahi, one doe lashed to the mare's hindquarters and the other laying across the wolfess' lap.

They headed north, toward Anathema. A dark blip in the snow caught Hanna's attention; if it were a prey animal, she would take it, too, if it were possible. But as she neared it, the blip looked more and more lupine. Even nearer and there was no doubt, it was a wolf. The woman halted her horse, wriggled out from under her catch, and approached cautiously. Horses tended to worry some Luperci, and upset others who believed in more traditional modes of transportation. Her hands were never far from her belt. "Good morning, traveller. How fare you today?"
