Adelle seemed to really enjoy the story, growling at the mention of more scars and cheering when her father’s leg was broken. Isa was struggling to keep a smile on her face. She had been relieved her father could no longer abuse her and that she had gotten revenge for her mother, but he was still her father; and he died by her fangs. She couldn’t keep the happy expression on her face as Adelle acted out the fight between her and her sister and whom Adelle believed was a monster.
She watched with a sad look in her eyes as the pup reenacted her father’s death. She flinched when Adelle pounced on the snow, shouting, “He died.” Isa looked up at the sky, wishing none of it had ever happened. She missed her mother and now even her sister wasn’t around. Isa stood up and walked over to Adelle, forcing another smile on her face. She nipped at the pup’s chest again, trying to tickle her. She wagged her tail, making herself appear to be happy as she flopped over onto her back and nudged Adelle with her paw, motioning for her to “kill her.”
