Half-flopped ears pricked momentarily as the girl stumbled, her balance gone when the mare withdrew. Rather than react with a conniption, the girl sat grumpily as she stood and stared at the horse. Luckily, the two made up with some nibbles and giggles, and Wayne let himself relax again. He was always on edge when pups and horses were around each other, although he trusted some horses more than others. He hadn’t seen Gypsy in a long time, however, and while he didn’t think she’d hurt a child intentionally, misunderstandings were easier between four-legged pups and moody equines. He knew he had to keep an eye out for the pups in Casa, too.
Well, Wayne began as she asked the question, not knowing how to answer. He shrugged and gave his head a quick shake. I guess you’ll know if ya have the special ears or not. Just listen sometime, y’know? Just about everything can talk to ya if ya listen. He smirked what he hoped to be an enigmatic smirk, although he wasn’t one of those canines suited to the skill. He had too much work to do to sit around listening.
