Truth About Love
#6
The slender hybrid noticed him glancing at her coal-furred legs once and a while, feeling a bit self-conscious as he did so. But she knew he meant well, and surely it just was curiosity getting the best of the wolf. Her fluffy tail wrapped around them as she finished her meal, lifting her head in enjoyment as she stretched her neck. That was good. She sighed, glancing towards the forest. This was a good place to live. With her mate and the freedoms Nova Scotia gave her. Italy had more establishment. More laws to live by. It hurt her to think of restrictions, especially in such a wild beautiful place. Mahogany gazers trailed to the blood they had left behind, but it was a great meal. Something primal and enjoyable. Something that reminded Selene of where she came from, and what she had derived from long ago. Her bloodline was mixed with dog and coyote. Anything but wolf. In some places of Italy, they believed wolves to be not pure. Too wild to mix with society. Dogs, jackals, and coyotes reigned. Luckily her parents hadn't gone along with that. And her beliefs were nothing of discrimitory.

Sel listened intently, as he mentioned New Dawn. That was the wolf pack north. She had heard good things about that pack. Already they seemed strong. But she could ever join. "You can't shift?' How had Tharin managed to go so long without getting the taint? It fascinated her, yet she was born as a Luperci. She couldn't change or do anything about it.
