Jiva beamed with pride as she seemed taken with her new gift. It was beautiful on her, and he knew that even without it she would be just as beautiful. He squeezed her hand happily as she took his and enjoyed her closeness as his father spoke of presenting the alpha’s with something. That surely would appease them and he knew it. Niro was a smart man and Jiva always would look up to his elder in such a way that he was awed by him. Jiva, being an only living child, had been cared for his every whim since he was a pup and since having no playmates was always with his father doing what he did. Jiva’s interests turned to other things as he got older but that made his fathers life no less interesting.
“Oh yes she is right, they would love that kind of gift surely!”
Jiva said, though he didn’t meet either’s eyes on this seemingly looking around to where they should take to hunting. He knew his fathers rules on using their birds. If he knew that Jiva had been “Cheating” with Tobias he would sincerely be mad. The young man was better a hunter with another. He chased better than he caught. He knew he was a pack hunter rather than a solo one. There were a few he did catch on his own but most of what he got was the work of Tobias. The bird didn’t seem to mind as he was far more successful and he brought the meals to Jiva knowing his hard time he had hunting on his own. The bird had witnessed it plenty of times. Jiva was quick and agile, but when it came to that last bit of speed he was always too short of killing an animal.
