Thorn had witnessed both of his children and his younger siblings experience their first shift. It had been a wonderful occasion and with his own children it meant a feast after it happened. Mii, his daughter had done very well and had no problems with her shift, but Chatory'a, his son had been very frightened and gone through the experience much like the pup was right now. It was easy for them to get scared and this only slowed the process. Like ripping off a band-aid, Thorn might say if he had ever experienced a band-aid. The white Russian knelt down next to the pup, resting a paw on his head and gave a silent nod. His own tail wagged slowly and he made a quiet, reassuring noise in Russian. "It'll be okay." Thorn assured the youngster, wondering where his parents were when this time in his life was coming. Didn't parents here watch their young likes frightening hawks as they approached their sixth month? The Russo knew he had with his own two. A Luperci should not be afraid to shift and a bad experience could cause just that.
The pup finished shifting and Thorn smiled and gave a little clap. The black and white pup with his baby curls was rather cute to see and the loner was glad he was able to calm him down enough to make the transition. The baby speech reminded him of when he was learning english as a youngster, a language that had seemed so very hard to learn. The language rules did not make sense and once he had learned it, he then had to understand slang and colloquialisms. Sitting down properly and adjusting his kilt over his lap he offered the small skin of water to the pup, holding up his other hand and counting his own fingers - numbering five - in his mother tongue. "A'deen, dva, tri, chetyre, pyat. Like me. When you shift you get extra finger, makes doing things a lot easier like cooking, drawing and stitching things." He patted the younger on the head before looking around again for his parents. "What's your name? Where's your mother, father?"
