WC :: 6+ :: Oooh I wonder what goes on? Wink

Could it really be happening that fast? The woman’s mind was reeling as she walked along the edge of Wabanaki Coast, the tip of Grand Lake in her sights and her feathered friend Zalia calling out happily from above. Without the harrier at her side, the New Dawn wolf was alone with her thoughts from the past few days. Love making with Jiva had been incredible and insanely passionate, but she had not realized how easy it would be for the two of them to prepare their own garden for the future. Yet, it was true, the seeds of another generation had been planted, and Palaydrian experienced her first tell tale signs of pregnancy earlier that morning when she’d thrown up her partially digested breakfast. Zalia had been concerned, but Drin chalked it up to bad meat and insisted that a good walk would make her feel better. She decided she’d keep the secret of morning sickness to herself, at least until it became recurrent. No use in getting her mate’s hopes up for a fluke. She knew how upset Titania must have been when that had happened to her, and she wasn’t about to overly excited herself until she was positive Jiva’s “magic” had taken hold.

A warm blush crept into her cheeks, the woman could still dream and wish for such a thing, but she dashed the idea when Zalia came soaring back towards her screeching in distress. Zal! Calm down, what is it? She clicked back to her friend in low speech, allowing the growing bird to land clumsily on her arm. Drin grimaced against the talon scratches in her arm, but lifted her free hand to steady her friend and stop the raptor’s flight. “Kree-chur....big ears...needs...help in water!” The bird spoke rapidly before launching off the woman’s arm and taking off in the direction of the lake once more. Wait! Zalia! Drin called back, but the harrier was out of earshot. A sense of urgency washed over the Omega as she picked up her pace, thinking about what kind of creature would have gotten itself in trouble in the water. Her mind kept flipping back to what Zalia had said about big ears, and then it dawned on her, the creature must have been canine! The woman immediately took off at a sprint, her empty satchel and her loose hair waving out behind her. This day had just gotten interesting.

As she neared the lake, she slowed down, gasping in breaths of ear and searching the surface for any disturbance, but a shrill cry to her left grabbed her attention. Beneath the circling bird was woman in need! Drin threw off her satchel and dove into the shallows, stroking powerfully through the water and towards the distressed canine. She hadn’t had time to look around for the attackers as she was solely concerned on saving the woman from drowning. As she got closer, Drin reached out an arm to the woman and spoke in calming tones. Grab on, I’ll swim us back to safety, she said as she waded in the depths. Weeks of swimming had strengthened her core and she’d be able to tread for awhile. Her eyes scanned the shoreline for the “he” she was speaking of, but only Zalia remained on the beach. Nobody is going to hurt you, please...hold on! She commanded the stranger, hoping she wouldn’t have to knock her out to get her safely to shore.

Credit goes to Haley for such a pretty table! <3.
