Call to Hunt
#8
The hunt had turned into a game of patience. Waiting on the waters edge while the elk slowly froze to death was a difficult thing. Kiara stood impatiently, panting softly as she paced intermittently. Tharin chose to spend most of the time lying on the ground in a far more patient manner. The summer's heat was getting to the snow wolf, and she wanted the hunt to be over with soon so she could nap in the shade with a full belly.

Once again, the elk tried to move, but the motion was slow, weak. Kiara's eyes brightened as she took an excited leap no more than an inch towards the elk. Sapphire orbs turned to Tharin who was looking at her. He had also noticed the elks weakened state. Not waiting for instruction, the arctic wolf curdled around the elk, making her arch wide so as not to startle it. Water splashed wonderfully against her coat as she moved into the freezing stream. The elk, noticing her movements, shuffled away. It hadn't given up just yet, but the meat was as good as theirs.

In an instant, Kiara surged forward, her strides high to help her move better through the water. The cold water was invigorating to the hot female, making her adrenaline rush as she pushed through it. She was practically jumping as she tried to force the elk to the shore where they could take it down without having to eat wet meat. Hopefully, Kiara could successfully drive the elk towards Tharin.
