It was Leaf that saw him first. He stopped his play as the other muddy wolf came up and then he scampered behind Jiva as he approached. Jiva sat up on his haunches and bowed his head to Tharin; “Tharin, what brings you out here?” Jiva asked. He saw the man’s dirty pelt but would not remark on it. Perhaps something happened and he slipped or something. Jiva really couldn’t tell..
He wasn’t sure what Tharin thought of his new child, the fox kit that Palaydrian had adopted so soon after her miscarriage, and that Jiva could not deny her. He was now feeling like a father figure to the child and he wasn’t sure what Tharin thought of the kit, but Jiva knew that Tharin was a wolf of old, and he would likely kill the boy if he had the chance. Nothing had been made clear about Leaf inside the cave that they all shared throughout the storm, but it was certain that Zalen did not come to kill the poor kit at all. That much Jiva was thankful for that though Drin had told him of her encounter with Zalen. He was still nervous though. Now here Tharin was alone and he was certain he came to check the fox kit out.
