Geneva continued the story, turning the page. They had been reading for quite a while now. She was surprised at how enthusiastic the pups were about the story. Surprised and pleased. They were wonderful; both excited about the story and attentive. She was glad they seemed to genuinely be enjoying their time together. She couldn't remember the last time she had had so much fun reading a story. Peter Pan wasn't even her favorite before, but she was certain it would be right up there with Othello and Macbeth now that she had a special memory to hold with it.
She closed the book after Peter Pan and the gang reached the Indian tribe. It seemed a good place to stop, before coming to Tiger Lily. She didn't want to bore the boys to death. She closed the book, putting a scrap of paper to hold the page. She stretched her arms into the air and gave Salem and Haven an affection scratch between their ears. "What has been your favorite part so far?"
