I just.. the words toppled off her lips, but they weren’t what she wanted to say. She didn’t matter. Her breath was steady, but each inhale was harder then the last. Her chest tightened, and her steady breath was suddenly gone. Her eyes that had been clear were suddenly dotted with moisture. Her deep exhaustion left her nothing to stop it, to stop the wall from falling. He was alive, she was gone, and Anu wanted to dissolve into nothing. It was easy to choose the most pertinent and speak. Her voice was cracked, harsh and spoke of the tears that she could help but let fill her eyes. She’s not coming back. Anu couldn’t even say her name.
