And now the cause for the kid's wariness and fear was apparent.





He sat quietly for a moment. Poor kid. His mother didn't want him and his father was abusive, or indifferent at the least? What did one say to such a young kid with those kinds of problems? "Hey, now... Don't cry, kid. It's okay. Even if your father's angry now, he won't be forever..." He hoped. He never was very good with kids. Hell, he was barely an adult, himself. What did one do in these situations? Ordinarily, he'd have gone and gotten someone else...



"Do you know why he's angry? Is he angry at you, or just angry? I mean, it's not like it's your fault that he's angry. How could it be? You're just a kid," he reasoned, hoping that he wasn't just going to make it worse. He didn't want to mess the kid up more...
