It's Black Label, So Keep Walking

She leaned against the bar, taking in the drunk form that sat (barely) in the chair. She couldn’t help but shake her head at the sight, feeling bad that he was so completely drunk already. At the same moment Anu wished she were in the same state, though with the supply they had just found it would be impossible to get there. Looking across the shined pine Anu gave him a smile as her fingered worked the cap of the bottle she had been saving. Jazper seemed fine, not needing one of the double shot glasses that she placed in front of herself. Pouring a glass full for herself she took it down just as he began to speak.

The smooth scotch filled her throat as ears listened. And Anu almost choked on the liquor as she heard what he said. Blue eyes raged as she listened to his story, finally knowing why the female had left and how much pain had been spread so thick on the big male. Still shocked, the broken bottle barely made her move. She understood why he was so torn, and why he was so drunk. It only made sense and the kind of sense that Anu fully appreciated and understood. Her rag brushed that she could manage to clean to the side of the bar and she eyed his hands.

Looking for any shards in his paw, Anu pulled another glass over knowing that he needed it now. Filling it with what was held in her hand she pushed it towards him. It might not do anything more then make him believe he was making progress on his drunkenness. Anu figured there really wasn’t anywhere else for him to go, he had hit bottom. Taking another down and feeling the burn ease with the second shot she let it hit the bar with a clink.

That’s fucked up Jaz. The words escaped as she cringed from the drink. The small golden man still walked idly across the label. There was no reason she couldn’t come to you. No reason to run. She hoped to ease him, but the fear of waking his anger was very real. Lily, it’s a beautiful name. The warmth of the scotch fit her stomach and Anu looked across, wondering if she had looked so low in her life. She was certain she had.
