The man was not oblivious of the consequences that would roll in over him. His eyes were absent, his thoughts many. His body was still in the cool water, the dark clouds of blood fading as the crystal blue soothed the particles down to a slumber at the lake’s bottom. The voice that brought him out of his thoughts was not familiar, yet there was recognition. The man’s eyes found the pitch black woman quickly. He felt uncertainty touch his consciousness, something that very rarely happened. The woman was older, her beauty dark and dangerous. He had grown since last time she had laid her eyes upon him. During his four years of life, Haku had seen only once. He had seen fire, war and death. He had seen something glorious. He had been her. The woman had no name, but his eyes remembered her. He had waited for her as long as he could remember, he had just not realized before today.

He shifted slightly in the water, facing her, unable to properly place her in his memory. He needed her help, and she had come to his aid. Things were not complicated. ”I need your help.” the male said plainly, coming to the shore, walking up to the woman. His hand found her wrist and held it in a gentle grip, revealing a strange tenderness when he lifted it to place it on his cream and crimson chest. His grip tensed and forced her sharp nails to pierce his skin, allowing fresh red mingle with the old. Svara had wanted it, but she was a foolish thing, and so she could not be trusted. Haku needed to strengthen his own position first, and the woman with the dark locks was going to help him.

”I’ve been waiting for you.” the male revealed. His words made him completely certain. She was really here. Finally.
