In a word, she hurt. Sabeen's fight with Leroy had inflicted serious damage, and although she knew that, there wasn't exactly anyone for her to turn to. Ironically, the daughter she turned against her happily knew the healing ways. The lady remained curled up on the ground under the tree for what felt like an eternity, fading in and out of consciousness. Her bleeding had slowed and started to clot. Her muscles screamed as she pulled herself up, too fatigued to stand or shift. Instead she crawled, slowly, back towards her city home. Every few minutes she'd stop, falling down, a series of involuntary whines escaping her clenched teeth.

The woman collapsed on her apartment complex floor, her head light and woozy. The world around her faded to black. Every breath hurt her chest where the ribs fractured. Sabeen's pain melted away then and she entered a glorious dream state. Cold darkness nipped at her heels and forced her forward. She was in four legged form, she noticed, as she tumbled into a dark spacious den. A form materialized before her. The lady could not make him out but knew him to be her father, Asmodai. Her lips cracked into a stiff smile as he began to speak.

A voice startled her into consciousness. It was familiar but her weakened mind couldn't sort it out. "Father," she half-murmured, lifting her head up. The world around her was blurry; she couldn't remember what Asmodai had been saying.
