Calling on Blue Skies

There was something silent and peace bringing sitting out in the middle of the lake. Even as they spoke, the words filling her ears, there was something that allowed relaxation. Even the embarrassed feeling that came with her was quickly shadowed by the big smile Jaz gave and the tension that she could not help but notice was absent as she leaned back into her seat and wait for what ever might happen next. She wondered if she would know when the fish came for the bait. If a fish took the bait. So close to the boat there was a slim chance that it would be brave enough to swim beneath it. Tow hands held onto the fishing pole, waiting and watching to see if the line would grow tight and pull against her. It wasn’t until Jazper spoke once more that she realized that such a thing would be obvious, and not just a small tug.

It was like she was woken from a lazy trance. His voice excited and piched to follow suit. Anu looked at him, eyes wide, and watched him pull at the rod with a practiced motion. Even with his commands Anu did not move for a moment. The net? She thought, and with a long blink she realized that he asked it from her. Moving quickly blue eyes looked at the scattered articles in the bottom of the boat and found what she figured was the net he was asking for. It looked like something she had caught butterflies in at one time, though heavier and suited for the weight of a fish. Delicate hand gave it to the larger dark male.
“Don’t loose it!” She spoke with the same amount of excitement. Anu looked over the side of the boat, a smile on her face and trying to find the fish beneath the lake’s surface.
