OOC:

Leaving AniWaya lands behind had been easy, far too easy. Figuring out what to do with himself in the days that followed had not been. The red hued husky had spent time lingering in Halifax, where he had once stayed before ever being accepted to AniWaya so long ago. Now again he stayed in his old haunts, listlessly spending his time. Hours on end would be spent staring at the wall, and then a few more hours after that making detailed lists of all the ways he had failed. Dawali had seemed concerned days ago, when he had come and gone like the ghost he already was, but Leland was not concerned. This was how it should be. This was what happened when you screwed up.

Leland knew that he wouldn’t stay in Halifax forever, but he had little else to go, or perhaps too many places to go. Leroy he had heard was in the newest pack, a name he couldn’t think of, Slay still resided in Dahlia de Mai and Lysander in Phoenix Valley. In fact, he had verified the presence of all three males several times over the past two weeks, leaving Halifax briefly to stop just short of the borders of the packs, take a survey of the scents and turn around to come back to the empty home he stayed in. Slay, perhaps like Dawali, was the only one he really planned on seeing, Leroy and Lysander got along with out him so far and he doubted much they would be overjoyed at his return. So when, in one of his habitual walks up to the border, he kept going forward he surprised himself.

Still he was thin, and his fur matted and in clumps. Although his paw pads had healed from the abuse he about put them through, none stop walking until they wore too thin and tore, they looked no better. Infection had set in and amid the dried blood and bruises pockets of fluid built of, and Leland scarcely noticed them anymore. Just as he scarcely noticed the hunger in his belly or the constant shiver his body seemed to be fighting. He didn’t notice much at all as he sat down, as he had down in AniWaya, waiting for someone to find him. Waiting, he knew for Leroy, although he worked on automatic. When the male did show, he wouldn’t really have anything to say.
