It was like having a noontime shadow, but then it wasn’t a shadow at all. It was something that filled the small space between them that was his comfort, it was knowing that she was beside him that was his normal, his reality. Before eyes opened to meet the day’s light, before ears awoke to the word and their Mamaidh’s voice she was there. Before his first though, she was his first moment. The boy took his sister’s question, turning it keenly over in his mind and wondering. He didn’t know, and a frustration began to blossom and grow. He wanted to be as special as they were, holding just as much magic. While Chastity smiled Honor did not see, for he looked above and into the leaves that whirled around them. In a moment he drew close to her, a small movement that took no thought. He touched her side, eyes wandering before settling on the little hybrid female. A smile came to his maw as they both stood in misunderstanding. While he only wanted to know, to have the question answered Chastity was the one that worked excitedly through the problem.

Maybe, he thought. His tail twitched, and then moved in a wave as she mentioned the Wren. Just as his sister knew, Honor had heard the story of their entrance into the world. Mamaidh has said that they sang, that their music and presence was something special. If it was, then couldn’t they have magic? Yes. “They do.” Honor confirmed, confident in his words. How could they not? The small birds seemed to flutter through the forest world, their song the pair’s constant music. Even if his black and white orbs could not see them, it was a presence that he felt. Similar, yet different then his tie with his twin. Perhaps they were his shadow. His tail wagged, a little fiercer and a little more eager. ”They fly!” He stated suddenly, looking at the tawny girls face with a smile. All frustration was gone, for the answers seemed to be right here. Large paws trotted though the leaf litter, their crunching death beneath his uneasy gait. He took only a few steps, before waiting for her to follow. He wasn’t about to leave her behind.

Something brushed the corner of his view, and when he turned his head to see it was gone. They could follow, couldn’t they?
