The answer to his question brought about a disappointment, and the tawny-furred werewolf could not lift his lip in a sneer of disgust. What had this thing done to deserve Haku's good grace? Sicarus could not see any outward indication of strength from the other canine; there still seemed to be a gangly look of adolescence about him, a sweetness in his pale blue eyes that was so different from the glinting sapphires of his Rosen's gaze. There was infinite hardness and strength in the chocolate-furred leader's eyes; there was only weakness and a girlish softness here.
"Oh." The word was said with some amount of disdain, that same look apparent on the Gazon's face. He crossed his arms and appeared rather irritated, considering for a brief moment whether or not to simply whirl on his heels here and seek a more pleasant company—Haku, perhaps. Something in the creamy-furred wolf told him, however, that the Rosen had better things to deal with than his petty questions. If this was the best company he could find, however, Sicarus thought he was probably far better off alone.
The other canine's submission was not lost on Sicarus, and he gloated over it for a moment, his tail lifting higher and a sort of smirk settling over his coal lips. Maybe there was a use for this canine after all? Anything that inflated Sicarus's ego was a good thing. "At least we've got a smart leader," the wolf said, shrugging as he delivered something of a rather under-handed insult to the other canine. He had meant to exalt his leader, anyway—the added benefit of insulting the other canine had only occurred to Sicarus after the fact, though it was certainly plausible one might consider his speech as merely intended to spur conversation.
