The silence seemed like a tangible substance, like a thick liquid that covered the village before him and stifled anything that dared to make a noise. The songs of the birds in the distance drifted through the thick quiet, seeming as if they were miles away. Beppe could not hear the noises that the other wolf was making as he explored the village, but he spotted a glimpse of movement, a dark abstracted shape against the brightness of the snow. It took a moment for him to convince himself that it wasn't just an aberration of vision, but when he convinced himself that there was someone there he started to walk towards the heart of the buildings. His steps were slow and perhaps a little cautious, and as he walked his eyes traced lines across the inverted Vs of the rooves and the bold white squares that surrounded the windows. This place was strangely enchanting, with a timeless charm, and Beppe admired its seclusion. It was strange, though, that there was someone else there, and it was towards the building that the other had disappeared into that Beppe aimed his steps.

Without a word, the ebony male stepped through the same door that the other had. Once inside, he followed the other's humming, finding the tune rather familiar. It was after a few moments that Beppe could see the wolf that he had been following and he stopped in his tracks, not wanting to get too close. He hadn't yet said a word, and perhaps his behaviour had been slightly creepy. In this small house, it was likely that the lighter colored wolf would be surprised and perhaps shocked by the realization that Beppe was there - unless he had known all along and was luring him into the depths of the house to kill him - and the male didn't want to be close enough to hit. The words to the song that the other was humming had suddenly flitted into Beppe's head, though, and they would not be happy to stay in there. As gently as he could, the Italian sang in tune, "Sul mare luccica l'astro d'argento, placida è l'onda, prospero è il vento..."
