Italian dude is fasionably late to hunting party, oh yes. >.> Hope yous don't mind. 633

The nights seemed to be growing more and more familiar to the Marino man. He had assumed that he had managed to fend of the sleepless nights for the most part, but the longer he stayed separated from his small family, the more sleep seemed to avoid him. He was almost uncertain if it all due to him missing them so greatly or because he had already grown so used to falling asleep with the pups around him. The chocolate-hued male could only assume that both played some part in his bouts of insomnia. On most nights he could toss and turn for a while until he forced sleep upon himself, but on some nights he could not tolerate the lonely quiet of his bedroom for very long. Tonight had been one of those nights, and to shake off the uncomfortable thoughts and excess energy that seemed to accompany them he slipped out of the mansion and took a walk out around the pack lands.

Ehno was unsure how long he had been wandering about when he heard a pair of calls ring out through the cold night. He stopped in his tracks and listened quietly to the melodic howls. It was an invitation for a hunt, clear and simple. It seemed like the perfect way to dispel some of his nightly unease and do something productive for the pack at the same time. He hesitated to rush to the hunt though, thoughts beginning to buzz. The one who had initiated the call was the leader Anu. Ehno had seldom stopped to spend time and get to know the woman, especially after Naniko’s departure from the pack. Obviously she would know of his involvement with her former mate. He had hardly bumped into the woman around the pack lands recently, but he knew that their meeting would be an awkward encounter to handle. The male deliberated for a few moments about whether he should join the hunt. Thinking briefly on his duty as a pack member, his decision became abundantly clear.

The Italian man started moving again, hoping that he would be able to catch up with the hunters. On his way toward the area the call had originated from, he thought he saw a few tracks by the light of the moon. Thinking he might have found something, he sniffed around and discovered a slightly faint scent of deer. He followed the trail for a short time, nose to the ground, until he could be certain that the trail was fresh. A renewed energy for the hunt flowed through him and he continued onward to meet up with the hunting party to let them know of his discovery. Eventually he caught the sight of movement in the distance and he watched for a moment before realizing that it was Anu leading the small hunting party.

He easily recognized Brooklyn beside her, and the other woman held a slight familiarity as well. The Marino studied her for a moment before an encounter from a few months back sprang to mind. He had met this young woman once before, but at that time she had belonged to Dahlia de Mai. Had she perhaps joined their ranks in the months that passed? He cast her a worried glance once he noticed the shape she was in, tail bandaged. He wondered what could have happened to her, but now was not the time for such questions. Instead he offered her a reassuring smile. He nodded briefly in greeting to the group before falling in step beside them. “There’s a herd not far north from here. I spotted a few fresh tracks just up there,” he shared, motioning back to the direction he had come from. The excitement for the hunt was clear in his hushed voice.
