Under his teeth flesh fell away, and Gabriel felt bone rake against bone and could only hope that he would manage to blind the bastard with that movement. Haku was wiser then this, and drew back. As suddenly as he had done so, Gabriel too pulled back, lowering his head and backing away a singular step. That was all he managed before the beast was on him again, his size dominating the field. Teeth sunk into the thick fur around his neck, but it was too high to catch the jugular and too well protected to reach the bone. Gabriel ripped himself away, granting Haku fur and flesh, earning wounds on his tattooed shoulder from those claws.
A laughing snarl broke out of his mouth, a maddening thing that spoke volumes. Then, and only then, did he move. Gabriel knew his strength now was his speed, and sought to use it. His head swung around like a viper, teeth aiming for the throat and for the face, claws seeking to ruin the forelegs of the monster before him.
