Cotl had been swinging madly, only feeling resistance twice against the blade. That means he hit something twice out of the many slashes he attempted to make. The wolven before him had taken his own blade though, and countered. Cotl saw the strike coming towards his stomach, and he twisted his sword to block it. Mistake #1. He left himself in a position that he could easily be disarmed, and that was exactly what had happened. Cotl let the sword fall to the ground, and he jumped back a few paces before falling down on his four legs. He was trained to fight with his hands and teeth rather than a sword or weapon, so disarming him was more like a blessing than a curse. Cotl now would have to make sure he didn't get hit in the wrong place though, because without a weapon or armor, he would easily be able to be sliced open by the other armored male. Cotl knew where he was going to aim. He was going to aim for the face. It was the easiest way to win a fight. Blind them, and they cannot see you. Therefore they either run or be killed. He had been taught this trick, and it was stuck in his brain to fight at the face instead of the body. Because anyone can get their arm sliced up and just use the opposite to fight instead of just that one. If you were able to fuck up the ears and nose while you're aiming for the eyes, then you knocked out three of the five senses. The only other two senses that they had left were taste, touch. Taste would be hard to get rid of, as well as touch, so knocking out the other three senses was what he would be aiming for. Two out of three would also work.

The rust male had shook out his pelt for a split second before he had charged at the other male on all fours. He had hoped that the smoke would cover his appearance a bit, just so he could be noticed later than normal, but the wind did seem to want to be on his side. Cotl's excitement rose, the two battling around the blazing fires that were getting bigger and bigger. Cotl let only a small ping of worry cross him when he thought about how the fire might close him in, leaving him no room to escape from the wolf brute in front of him. Fangs bared anyways, the little monster had launched himself at the wolf, aiming to sink his fangs, and/or claws into the male's face.
