For Princess <3 300+

Haven didn't often have dreams, or if he did he didn't remember them upon waking. Nightmares had plagued him when he had sat, wallowing his life away in the bar but ever since then he hadn't been visited by those haunting night images. He had been thankful they had gone away, because each one had been so vivid that he had been certain they were actually happening. Even upon waking the scenes would linger, making him paranoid and jumpy. Those nightmares had always involved his father in some way or another. Often the deranged man had taunted him, saying there was no escape, that he become just like him. Whenever Haven would deny this the man would only cackle maniacally and tell him he was wrong. Upon crawling out of that pit of self deprecation and destruction his psyche had let him be.

That was until this night. It had started out as an empty void, and then he had appeared, walking along towards an uncertain destination. At first he had felt perfectly fine, but as the landscape stayed sterile and unchanged a nervous feeling settled in the pit of his stomach. He called out, but there was no answer in return. So he continued to walk. After what seemed like a long while a figure appeared in the distance ahead of him. His pace increased, anxious to see who it was. As the distance closed his heart beat easier, for it was Princess. Where was she going though? Haven caught up to her and put a hand on her shoulder. "Princess! What's going on?" A smile was on his face, but it quickly faded as she turned to him with a blank expression. "I'm leaving," she responded flatly. His chest tightened uncomfortably, ears falling back against his skull. "Wh-what? Why?" This couldn't be happening. "I'm going to find Ares. He's more important." No. "But, he left you! I've always been here!" "It doesn't matter." "Princess!" "Goodbye Haven." And then she began to disappear, her features fading. Frantically his hands grasped at her, but she was already insubstantial. He couldn't keep her with him. "PRINCESS!"

Jades popped open and he sat up with a start. His heart hammered in his chest and he felt winded, like he had just run miles. Eyes scanned the room, finding it normal, nothing out of place. Then his gaze shot to the other side of the bed, finding Princess laying there peacefully. Usually the sight of her would have been enough to calm him, but not this time. The image of her indifference and departure were too strong, too unsettling. A chill ran down his spine and he buried his face in his hands. Would it come true? Would she leave him too?
