She was so glad to be near Mati again, her heart thumping its happiness. The organ undoubtedly beat with more vigor whenever the Church wolfess was around. It had been too long since their last encounter, even if the sweetness of the meeting continued to linger on her tongue. She hoped the time between now and their next time wouldn't be so long. The girl wanted to spend some time every day with Mati. She knew that probably wasn't possible, at least not right now, but that didn't stop her from wanting it. She hadn't even seen her finished portrait yet, though admittedly thoughts of the painting had been far from her mind. Whenever she thought of Mati she didn't think of the painting, because nothing else could hold her attention when the other's image was before her mind's eye. It was the same in this moment, just as the last. All she could really focus on was Mati, and she was perfectly okay with that.

Cambi lead them into the barn, the smell of the hay comforting and overpowering any mustiness that might have been there. She was glad that Mati kept the distance between them minimal, her nerves tingling in excitement. There wasn't really a plan for what they could do, she had just wanted to go deeper into the building, to seclude themselves even more. Having special time with just the two of them seemed important. She didn't think that anyone in Crimson Dreams would judge them, but it was still nice regardless to be away from prying eyes. Couples like their privacy every once in a while, right? She knew her parents did. Realizing she had just thought of she and Mati as a couple made her pause. Were they? It wasn't like they had talked about it, but she hoped that was the direction they were going in. Cambria wanted them to be, there wasn't a doubt about that.

She felt the gentle squeeze and turned back to look up at the other female, smiling brightly. Mati came closer and she leaned against her slightly, their arms pressed together. "I'm not sure, pretty old I guess. I haven't really. I came in here once when I was little, to get away from a storm, but that's it." Cambria, also, was not exactly interested in the structure they stood in either. Vaguely her ears picked up the groaning of the building, but she thought nothing of it. The manor made noises all the time, it didn't mean anything. Two large piles of sweet-smelling hay lay before them and Cambi let go of Mati's hand, doing a belly flop in the middle of them. The straws poked and tickled her and she looked back over her shoulder at her friend, giggling lightly.

Just then a gust pounded against the barn and the wood moaned louder than before and then a loud crack resounded through the air. The Marino's brows knit together in confusion and she was about to look up when she heard a thump and then something hit her side. The girl yelped at the sudden impact as she was forcefully rolled over onto her back, her skin on fire where it had been scraped. For a moment she was blinded by the shock and pain of it, only aware of a great pressure on her torso that made it hard to breathe. When her vision cleared all she saw was a large beam of wood on top of her. She squirmed, trying to get free, but she was pinned down with her ribs protesting against the weight. True fear seeped into her then, and her eyes grew wide. "M-Mati?!" she called out, still unknowing as to what had and was happening.
