Dust stuck to the inside of her nose and stuck to her cheeks where her tears had made their trails. Every so often her sobbing was interrupted by coughs, her lungs trying to expel the unwanted particles that were breathed in. But all sounds were cut short as another resounding crash echoed through the failing building. More than that though, there was a cut off cry that she knew with a sickly certainty belonged to her aunt. "G-Ghita?" the girl whispered. Oh gods, her aunt had been hurt while she was trying to get to her. Why was this happening? It took all of her willpower to keep from retching. This was too much. She didn't want to die, but she didn't want her family to get hurt while they were trying to come and get her. Her whole body began to shake violently despite the pain it caused in her pinned torso. Cambi had the urge to call them off, to tell them to leave her. She couldn't stand anyone getting hurt on her behalf, especially not her family. It'd be better if they just lost her instead of more members. Claws dug into the beam that held her down again and she thrashed around beneath it, screaming in fear, frustration, and pain. Why was this happening? Whywhywhy?
Her frantic efforts had dissolved back into crying and involuntary shaking by the time her uncle's voice reached her ears. Eyes wide with panic shot open. "Ehno!" Her exclamation was accented by a sharp whine. "Duole...Non posso muovermi...m-ma non penso che niente sia rotto." Once again the girl struggled against the beam but all it did was make the fire in her muscles burn hotter and she lay her head back against the hay, panting heavily. "Non voglio morire," she whimpered, "Ma non voglio che nessuno essere doluto altro." Cambria just wanted this all to be over, one way or another. "Lo zio, non voglio morire," she pleaded. Whatever feelings of hurt or anger still lingered in her heart towards him were gone, extinguished. None of that mattered now. She just wanted to be safe, but she didn't want him to get hurt too.
