Hybrid’s silent support was all he could offer. Gabriel’s call brought him outside the caves, a short distance away from Hybrid’s own. The trek was short, which relieved him; he didn’t feel up to a long jog across the territory. For some reason, he felt incredibly tired, and had been trying to catch up on all of the sleep he’d missed over the past month. Agitation, perhaps, had denied him his rest; but he intended to reclaim it.

Hybrid arrived to see a rouge-hued woman standing near Gabriel. Hybrid did not recognize her, and for a moment, felt the familiar sting of jealousy flare up. He had intended to be the first one to arrive, and was disturbed to see that a new member had taken his place beside the Aquila. Although Hybrid was no leader of Inferni, he still felt his rightful place was beside the one he was sworn to protect. Halo had Kaena to guard, and Hybrid had always made Gabriel’s safety his own concern. Hybrid squashed his emotions, refusing to acknowledge them; he would just tough it out.

Hybrid inclined his head toward the Aquila as he spoke. Hybrid frowned at the tone (it was jagged and worn), but remained silent. He nodded his head once in agreement. Inferni had brandished fire as their weapon, but Dahlia de Mai resisted their attacks and countered by setting Inferni ablaze as well. It would be best for everyone if they moved away and put more distance between the two packs. Although this would promote peace – which was certainly an overrated concept; peace was only the lull between each war – Hybrid understood and respected Gabriel’s intentions. Gabriel concluded, warning Inferni to remain safe. Hybrid nodded one more time, letting his gaze sweep over the other members of the clan who had arrived. Remain safe (and win this war); those were the intentions.
