It was not long before Pendzez appeared, holding some sort of book--the title of which Xeris would not have been able to read if she tried, so she didn't. Xeris pointed to the boxes and crates littering the room. "Is this what we're looking for? There's all kinds of stuff stored here." These crates and such had less dust than the others, and it seemed that they hadn't been here for quite as long. Surely this was the Valley's storage area. Their mission was almost complete.


"There's all sorts of interesting things in this mansion," Xeris said, unable to fully take her mind off of the strange human artifacts she had found. "What is that book?" she asked, her golden eyes shifting downward to the tome in her mate's hand. Reading was not something she was able to do, but she was amazed by the idea of it and wanted desperately to learn. Perhaps if she was able to read human literature, she could learn more about human artifacts and architecture.
