The beast did not seem deterred by her screaming, just as he had not stopped when she had demanded he do so. Princess stared at him, trying to mask her fear and doing so very unsuccessfully. Tears were flowing freely now, though she did not know when they had started. The menacing beast was going to do whatever he wanted to her, and nothing could be done. She was practically helpless, having never even been taught how to properly defend herself, and there was seemingly no one around to hear her screams. For all she knew, she might die out here, alone and at the mercy of someone who seemed so primitive and frightening. There was so much that she would miss out on, and Princess did not want to even think about what would happen once Haven found out what had happened to her, so close to their safe home.
Suddenly, though, there was no one standing over her. The Chance woman allowed herself a moment to breathe, relief flooding her shaking form. "Haven!" she shrieked again, recognizing the orange blur that had forced har attacker away from her in an instant. Princess sat up, huddling against herself and wrapping her arms around her legs, face pressed sharply against her knees. She was relieved that he had come for her, but now that the immediate danger was elsewhere, she was allowed to feel ashamed of what had happened to her, what else could have happened to her, and the dishevelled state that she had been left in.
Princess had momentarily forgotten about the dresses that had been scattered around herself and her attacker, and now she wished she had not even gone to find them that morning. Deep sobs wracked her body as she finally allowed herself to look up, trying to see for herself that Haven had saved her and was now fine himself. She would not be able to bear it if something happened to him because of her. They had just promised each other that they weren't going anywhere, either one of them!
