The order that Haven gave to her went unheeded, though it was not for her stubborn and defiant nature this time. Princess was afraid, but not only for herself and what could have just happened to her. Now, there was danger facing her Knight that she had not forseen when calling for help. Why did it have to be him that came to rescue her? The young woman did not know what she would do if something happened to him. Princess felt frozen to her spot, hugging her knees for all that her life was worth, golden eyes hardly blinking as she watched the violent fight unfold before her.
Princess held her breath, silently willing Haven to get back up and to not let the beast stay on top of him, the intruder's teeth surely drawing the blood of her lover. It sickened her to know that Haven was getting hurt because of her, even if it was not her fault that it had happened in the first place. She was not so upset that she was blaming herself for the stranger's sudden attack, but she knew that it was her fault that Haven was getting hurt. If she had been able to defend herself, or if she had not left the house that day at all, or if someone else had heard her screams, then he would not be getting hurt at her expense.
Once he was no longer pinned down, she exhaled, hot tears flowing more freely now. It did not occur to her that she could call for help or, heaven forbid, try to help Haven herself. Instead, she remained where she was, watching the fight through wide eyes. "Please don't get hurt," she whispered, though she knew it was too late for such a wish. The heavy scent of blood, both Haven's and the beast's, had permeated the air already.
