Mati stood there for a few moments, a seeming fear or hesitance freezing her form. At first Cambria wondered at this, but then she switched their positions in her mind. If it were here coming to see a hurt Mati she too would be afraid of what she might see. They were both in luck though. Her wounds could have been much worse than they were, and her body wasn't really mangled. There were scrapes on her torso, some lost fur, but it would grow back and there wouldn't be any trace of the accident save what they held in their memories. The one that held her affection's voice was soft, soft and more meek than she ever thought the older fey capable of. Even if she did understand the reason she didn't like hearing Mati sound like that. It could have been so much worse. That's what Cambria had had to keep telling herself, and that is what Mati needed to see as well.

The Church wolfess came to her, knelt down by her bedside. The silence was overbearing, but the Marino wasn't sure exactly what to say either, especially not when she looked into those shimmering violet eyes. She saw the tears that threatened to fall on her beautiful cheeks and slowly she shook her head from side to side. "Don't cry," she implored. There was no reason to cry, not for her, not over this. She hurt now, but she would be fine soon. There wouldn't be any lasting damage. She didn't want Mati to feel bad or guilty over this. This was no one's fault, and certainly not her's. They had just been in the wrong place at the wrong time. That was all. There was no guilt to place on any shoulders. "I've been worse." It was true, her accident with the powdered drugs had been much worse. This pain was merely physical while that had been emotional and psychological. Back then she had suffered for weeks. This pain would not last that long, especially not to the degree she now felt it. Besides, she wanted to wipe away the fear from those eyes she cared for so much. Cambi didn't want to see that there.

As Mati reached for her hand the Marino gently placed her's in the large brown one, even that slight contact numbing the aching of her body. It wasn't only her hand she felt though, there was a cloth tied around her palm. When her eyes searched she saw it was the same on the other hand. "What happened?" She didn't know that Mati had gotten hurt as well.
