Fleeing from the void had thrown him into the wilderness once again and he sought tranquillity as he once had known it. She was gone, gone, gone and there was nothing he could do about it. He was starting to feel it now; the weight on his too young shoulders. He shouldn’t be here, but he was and he was the alpha of Dahlia de Mai. He had never imagined such a thing would happen in the past, nor had he hoped for it to. Without Alexey he felt horribly lonely, and he was the sole guardian of his late aunt’s growing children and more so. Things did no longer look as promising as they had earlier when he still had the latte coated female to lean on when he returned home to the little family in Wolfville. Now the void was chasing him and he could feel the tight, black ball in the pit of his stomach stir. He did not wish to know what it was.

Surprise danced vividly within lavender orbs as he almost walked into the child that had sought refuge in a cluster of trees. Water Drops clung to his own golden features. The man adored rain and was soothed by it. It provided him with therapy he so sorely needed these days. The child was lost—had crossed the clearly marked borders and sought refuge within Dahlian lands. He watched the dirt that slowly was dribbling down her soaked fur. Another child—why were there so many children? He lowered his neck and peered at the little thing; guessing it to be half a year of age. Then the scent slapped him in the face and he could not grasp how he had managed not to notice until now. There was blood and a torn ear. Who would do such an unspeakable thing? ”Oh, poor sweetie, what happened to you?”
