Word Count :: 376 I put it here because this forum is lonely. ;~; Ethereal Eclipse and Harlowe is an Optime. :o

This forest was endless. The tawny-furred canine was not quite sure where he was anymore; everything blended together perfectly in this vast expanse of wilderness. It had taken Harlowe the better part of two days to get to this forest from Phoenix Valley, traveling around Halifax and through the Shattered Coast. He had been in this damn forest for almost a day now, and his stomach growled with hunger. He had a purpose here, though—he was trying to find Crimson Dreams. He wanted to see his father, and he thought he was adult enough to make the journey on his lonesome now. He wanted to tell him about Naniko—not that he thought his parents were really in love or anything. Harlowe tried really, really hard not to think about that because it was just repulsive. His parents, together—he just didn't want to think about that at all, and now he was regretting even thinking of it in the first place.

He had been here before, but his father or mother had been there to escort him, and of course Ehno and Naniko knew the way far better than Harlowe, who did not remember these treks. The tawny-furred youth had tried hunting several hours ago, but he had failed miserably, with nothing to show for his attempts but wasted energy. Though it was a warm and sunny spring day, Harlowe could not help but feel disheartened and miserable. He was almost an adult and he couldn't even figure out where his father lived.

In actuality, Harlowe was rather close; if he had just turned south and headed perhaps a mile or a mile and a half in that direction, he would have come across the Dreams pack border and his father's home. Unfortunately, Harlowe did not know where he was, and he could not possibly know how close he was to his actual target. The tawny-furred wolf continued trudging onward a way before he simply stopped, sighing softly and leaning back against one of the trees. He swung his pack around to his front and rummaged through it. There were just two books in there and little else of value—certainly no food. Harlowe was beginning to regret not bringing any provisions with him.
