this city, this city is haunted

She came. Of course, she’d grown. She was a woman now, fully out of childhood and matured in more ways than he could fathom from appearance alone. He didn’t know what she’d been through. To him, she was still the little girl that he’d left behind so long ago. The world had aged him as well, wearing his paws down to hard calluses and bringing with it experiences he didn’t wish to speak of. But he’d come. “Sister,” he greeted, using the family title intentionally. Lips cracked into a smile—the first in a while—at the sight of her.

“I don’t want to be strangers,” he said quietly. Family was hard to come by in this world. He didn’t wish to push away everything that he had. Blood may not have been the strongest tie, but he wouldn’t abandon what he had. Vitium he could care less about. Colibri gained more love than any sire that he could possess. Enigma—he didn’t know what he thought of him anymore. But Halo had always been different. He couldn’t see what she’d done or the things that had been done to her through the outside alone. Only memories remained, but he wanted to try.
