His senses were not shut down by the heavy blow to his head, but his body succumbed to a temporary loss of control. Silence remained, and though burning blue flares remained hidden behind heavy lids, the darkness beyond did not slumber. Her move had seemed almost forced; apologetic. There was no more weight drumming down against his flesh, and he was intrigued. The demon knew that he was infamous both in name and appearance. He had openly slaughtered souls in these lands for so long now, and was therefore well known wherever he went. It was strange to know that Ember seemed unable to recognize the truth about the fallen monster before her feet.
When the body started to function for the dark mind again, the floor was found to be softer. Blue eyes opened and became a pair of narrow slits as he quickly let that terrible gaze wash over the changed scene. Cruel claws flexed and he realized that the woman had found the courage to attempt to tie him up. What the hell was this supposed to mean. His eyes closed again and his breath remained calm and unchanging. Could it really be that she did not know? He was intrigued, but found that he had little patience for games that he could not understand. What she should have done was to separate his head from the body and leave his cooling corpse behind. He would have done that to her without blinking, but this foolish move of hers made him plot differently.
He waited until he heard her shuffle and move again before he allowed her to detect that he was no longer unconscious. Eyes opened fully in pursuit of her green. ”I did not mean to frighten you,” he lied smoothly with a silky voice he believed he had lost long time ago.
