It was time for the demon to track down the thief.

The unholy presence haunting the body of the wolf had devoured all that was left within, and so now there were merely a few grains left tumbling down into the hourglass; telling him that this was the end. While the large, hulking form moved with the strength and fluidity owned by the Prince of Hell, the secui’s lifespan could not be extended any further. The blood running through his veins was black; the absence of life within the creature controlling the animal’s core caused the body to forget how to sustain the mortal flesh any longer. King Chance would die so that Haku Soul could live. It had been decided, and now the time to act had come. All that was needed now was the black messor, the weapon that had been taken into custody by Gabriel de le Poer; whose soul he wanted to devour most of all.

Days had been spent fucking up Gabriel’s attempts to live a peaceful life. The rotting bodies of his coyotes had been dug up from their shallow graves only to be ruthlessly scattered about on Inferni soil. Skulls bordering the territory had been crushed and shattered. Fangs had found the flesh of the living members again and again to lure out the Aquila. Tonight, again, a flash of brown and cruel blue swept into the tranquil clan lands. The blackened necklace with the pale sapphire danced about his neck. The world around him whispered faintly, and he could see his shadow-creatures creep in together with the mist; as hungry for blood and death as he was. Nostrils flared as the Aquila’s scent burned, revealing to the beast that the dog was close. The night’s dark veil and the shimmering mist hid him from his view, but ah, Haku Soul knew.

This was the beginning of the end.
