She did indeed seem friendly enough. Mati did not know many from the valley and because of her mother’s alliance to them in the past there was a inherit unease when she took in that scent. It was wrong to make a connection to all of those in the pack, for her half sister lived there and Mati had come to love the fey. But some emotions could not be controlled or trapped before the small momentary frown was seen on her face. But she smiled now, softly and looked to Kansas for guidance. He was confident and calm, reminding her of her mother’s natural poise. She was still hoping to speak to him about her relationship with his daughter, but perhaps their company was a sign to her that now was not the proper timing.
The Valley wolfess only commented on their co-ranks and in her violet eyes brushing them off slightly. She could not help but take slight offense to her nonchalant dismissal of the talent. Mati did not seek the dark wolfess’ praise, but she did believe that what Kansas did was certainly important. Hunting and patrolling were things they all did, but one should not waste their time on tasks in which they did not excel and so Mati did her share and then moved on to other duties such as pupsitting and sketching. Of course Kansas teaching those that hoped to learn skills such as reading was where he out shined others, Mati thought it just as pertinent as chasing rabbits in the forest.
Mati sat quietly, listening to her play the flute with great talent, forgetting that she had even posed a question. When the black pelted woman put down her flute Mati gave a smile and spoke her praises right with Kansas. Very beautiful.
