Liliana was a kind face – something which seemed like a rarity in Lucia’s life. She had met so many on her travels, though the company lessened since her entrance into Nova Scotia, and they all seemed to have one flaw or another. However, Liliana seemed almost too perfect – maybe a little naive, but perfect nonetheless. She was glad to be a part of her memory, a good conversation to remember, and a kind word for Inferni if there ever could be such a thing. Even though she was a wolf, the fact that she had supported her coyote clan members in some way or another, even by just being a friendly face across their bad reputation, it meant something. It meant something to Lucia, and she was sure it meant something to others when the word travelled.

Listening to Liliana’s words, Lucia’s curiosity spiked. She wondered why Inferni had little in the sense of winter preparation, and why they had not invested in horses, even if it were merely for battle tactic. It seemed like such a good idea, thus she couldn’t place why it hadn’t been done before. Nodding quietly, Liliana’s words trailing through the corridors of the ebony prowler’s mind, Lucia decided that at some point, whenever they would cross paths again, she would raise her questions with Gabriel – or maybe Kaena. They seemed to have a better air between them anyway.

“It sounds like your pack is very well prepared,”
she said simply, mildly jealous of the production, and organisation of the other clan. She would find a way to bring the ideas to Inferni – it seemed like too much of an opportunity to pass on, and if it gave her points with the Aquila, that worked in her favour as well. She didn’t want to seem like a burden, or even more of an Outsider than she currently was – she wanted to be of use to the coyote clan, and thus, she would begin to borrow ideas off others, and blend them together to make Inferni as strong as it possibly could be with her ideas.

“Tobacco...” Her eyes raised, the ebony female couldn’t resist asking her next question. It burnt against her skull, and she knew that if she didn’t ask – she wouldn’t know. “Do you sell the tobacco... or trade? I would be very interested. I smoke a little too much for someone my age... but it helps, y’know?” She smiled weakly, trying to hold the female’s gaze. “I would be greatly interested in a trade?”

Silence floated in for a moment or two, and the two females seemed to just remain like statues. It was only when Liliana spoke again, the topic being of Aniwaya, that the quietness around them shattered, and the spark of conversation blew into a full fire once more. Perking her auds atop her crown, Lucia watched blankly. She too had little contact with all the members of her clan, but that wasn’t all by choice. A lot of them wandered where they wanted, and chose to avoid her – that was her decision for being a wolf in a coyote clan, and so she didn’t question it. It hurt like hell sometimes, and the loneliness often drained her energy, and not to mention, her emotion, but she got by. She was standing here now, as strong as she could possibly be, and that was all that mattered. She would survive the hardship, and she would smile as she did so – she would not be broken, not by them, not by anyone. That was a promise she would take to the grave, and whether that was sooner or later, it remained to be seen.

“Ah, do you not keep your members long?”
Lucia didn’t mean the question to come out as bitchy as it had, but the ebony female could find no other way to word what she had meant. There wasn’t many ways to suggest that the pack needed to re-evaluate its membership skills, and thus, Lucia had said it how it was, and hoped that the Aniwayan female would not take offence. She, judging from their early topics, guessed that she wouldn’t – but Lucia knew she could be surprised. She would wait for a response, and pray, deep down, it was the right kind of answer she was looking for.

Luckily, Lucia’s thoughts vanished at the sound of the female’s voice once more. Smiling, the ebony wolf nodded respectively. It was nice to be appreciated, and it was even nicer to know that someone would benefit from her kindness. She didn’t often show such things, nor give away belongings, but this female seemed pleasant enough, and seemed like a genuine being, thus Lucia didn’t mind too much. Just as long as she didn’t stab her in the back – that was enough for the ebony female to respect her, but only time would tell if her respect was placed with good faith.

With the book still in her hands, Liliana reminded Lucia of an innocent schoolchild... the educatory look across her face and the smile over her lips. Smiling back as best she could, Lucia kept quiet – allowing Liliana to speak once more. Her voice was quiet and humble – it was strange to see such behaviour in a wolf, but it was a good change. Lucia stood, watching the female in front of her. She seemed to drift off momentarily into her thoughts – Lucia allowed her this moment or two of silence to do so. She knew all too often how the mind had a way of stealing reality away, and planting imagination in its place – however, she wouldn’t leave it too long. She would speak soon, and she would continue their conversation. In a way, the ebony Inferni wolf didn’t want it to end – the company was good, and the topics were varied. It was a good day, and she was sure this wolf would eventually become a good friend – if they managed to stay in touch. She hoped they would.

“Indeed...”
the ebony female said simply, unsure of what else to say to break the silence. There wasn’t much else remaining on that topic – it had run its course. Smiling briefly, Lucia changed the subject quickly; she was curious to know what this wolf was like behind her borders. She wanted to get to know her better – she wanted a friend. Hopefully the horse-riding female felt the same way – and if not, well, at least it killed time.

“So, do you have a lover? Family...? What’s your life like in the clan?”
