As Hybrid jogged through the strange lands of Ethereal Eclipse, he revelled in the preciseness of his movements. Each placement of his paw was carefully orchestrated so that he did not trip himself, and each duck and dodge was made with awareness of his surroundings. Although he had no real purpose being this far south away from his home, he had chosen to venture forth out of curiosity. He had increased his patrols into the neutral lands that separated Inferni and Dahlia de Mai, but he rarely chose to go this route. Sheer curiosity had propelled him to take this detour; Hybrid was not usually this inquisitive.

He heard another creature moving through the forest and slowed down to a quiet walk. Peering through the undergrowth, he spotted his pale kitten limping home to Dahlia. He grinned and began to follow her, trying his best to keep out of sight. He slunk closer, slowly making his way toward his prey. Perhaps today he would be more successful; his last meeting had ended rather disastrously and he did not want to repeat it. He did not intend to be injured this time – that would be unacceptable.

He picked up his pace, making his way in a slow half-circle around the wolf. This time, he hoped to keep to the shadows and scare her a bit before emerging. While he did not yet completely have a plan, he knew one thing: he wanted to hear her scream. He wanted to see her face, terrified, of her unknown assailant. He would drink her fear and destroy her strength ever so slowly.

His grin widened as he considered his options: he would have to venture out into the neutral territory more often if this was what he would find. His kitten was certainly worth the special treatment.
