[html]I thought it would be coincidental/ humorous if Hybrid slipped, too. Big Grin

He had lost her: his pretty little kitty was nowhere to be seen and Hybrid was wrought with grief. He felt beside himself, for how could he ever let his darling little feline get away from him like that? Even as she ran, she left a trail of footprints behind her: bloody and wet. Hybrid slipped on one of them and skidded, eventually tripping over a branch and tumbled in to the undergrowth. By then, she had disappeared. He shook off the setback and continued running, following the trail she left behind, both with her blood and her scent. Although he had only lost his course for a moment, it seemed to have given her an enormous head start, whether she had known it or not! Hybrid growled as he continued after her and then allowed his growl to turn into a raging snarl. Where was his little kitten? He wanted to find her and needed to know where she was.

“Kitty? Kitty!” he called out, his anger apparent in his words. “Where are you, my kitty?” he shouted again, his voice rising with every word and step he took. He could smell her: she was close by. He could not see her, for her scent was everywhere; the wind shifted, taking it every which way. The smell of her blood was strong as he sought her out. He moved slowly without any grace and elegance. He could smell her. He could smell her.
