A beautiful summer day had settled upon the Crimson Dreams lands, probably one of the last few of the season. Summer was just passing its peak and the end would be swift to follow, autumn right on its heels. Through the recent warm summer days, Ehno had begun looking forward to the cooler temperatures of fall. The Marino preferred the happy medium between the two harshest of the seasons, but that didn’t stop him from enjoying truly beautiful days like today. The air held a comforting warmth and the sky above was the perfect combination of blue skies and idly floating white clouds here and there. It was perfect for the little outing he and Savina had planned for the day.

There had been a number of small, old boats to be found here and there in the pack lands. Perhaps each of them used once upon a time to float casually about in the lake or along the calmer parts of the coast line. When his sibling brought up the possibility of taking one of the old boats out themselves, Ehno was filled with that old adventurous excitement once again. The Italian man hadn’t gone out to sea since he had arrived in Nova Scotia two years ago (had it really been that long? Time surely was swift). While the little adventure the Marino’s were to set out on today would be on a much smaller scale that his previous sea-faring journey, he was confident that he would enjoy it just as much. It felt like it had been so long since the two siblings had spent time together, just the two of them.

Ehno had spent some time within the last few days readying their boat for the water. It was a task he had attempted once during his stay on Santander’s docks, but he had been met with little success due to his lack of general wood-working skills at the time. Now the Marino’s various projects in his little workshop served to guide him through it this time. If wasn’t long before he had the boat all patched up and had smoothed out its time-roughed edges. They had managed to bring the boat to the calm shores of Riunione Beach today, and Ehno smiled with satisfaction as the boat slid easily into the water. Amber gaze drifted over it for one last inspection, and satisfied, he turned to his sister and waved her over. “Ladies first,” he said, holding the boat steady so she could easily step inside.
