On her face is a map of the world

She worked on getting as much dust out of the blanket as she could. She was dissatisfied with the method that she had chosen to try and get it clean the first time, as it remained quite dusty, but didn't think that there was anything else that she could do for the time being. It was going to get colder out tonight and if she tried to wash it it would surely just freeze overnight and not dry. Perhaps the next day would be a better one for washing everything and hanging it up. Ember had noticed a clothesline out back behind the place.

She carried the still-dusty blanket back inside, spreading it out on the bed anyway. It was better than nothing, and she would find the time to bathe in the morning if she slept on or under it. As she continued to work she wondered about the home's previous occupants. There were several pairs of shoes on the floor, but they were much smaller than her feet and would never have fit her. She tossed them out of the broken window in the bedroom, knocking out a small pane of glass that had been hanging by one edge as well.

Ember yawned as she straightened up the rest of the room, organizing the closet and finding more sheets and blankets in a few of the boxes. These were far cleaner than the one on the bed and she swapped them out immediately. Much better! She was just getting the boxes put back into the closet when she heard footsteps behind her and a loud clunk. She felt certain that it was Moonfyre and didn't turn back around at first, still straightening a few things up.

His touch at her back was a surprise, however, at first. She stiffened for a moment, eyes darting back and forth wildly as she fought the urge to move away from him. Ember was unused to hugs, and after what she had gone through with Haku she would need some small reassurances. After a few seconds she calmed herself down, thinking to herself. This was Moon. Not Haku, not anyone else. This was OK. And she placed her hands over his above her belly, moving her head to the side to lean against his a bit. "What are you thinkin' about? She asked.
