The sable-colored hybrid had been back in Inferni for some time now, but she had made herself no more social for it. In fact, the only canine she had taken a liking to had been her supposed nephew—Enkiel. She had met him some weeks ago for the first time, and in the time that had followed, she had seen him several more times. The boy had expressed an interest in certain things, and though Eris was begrudging at first, she found she liked him, as she had liked his sister—Sepirah had made a good companion, and they had fun clearing the mansion of the pesky racoons. She hadn't immediately taken a liking to the gold-and-black youth, but he had made his impression on her eventually, and now they could surely be considered companions.

Eris and her companion were wandering along the edge of the mountainside, each of them keeping a sharp eye out on the ground. They sought plants—the sable-shaded woman was no expert in this area, but she knew enough to keep herself from eating most poisonous things. It helped to be able to point out a few useful ones, too—what she could share with Enkiel, she did, pointing out a peculiar-looking flower to indicate it was unsafe to eat. Though the younger canine was quiet, he nodded his head to show he had heard her, and his bright red eyes were sharp, utterly immersed in this new knowledge. Though there was little altruism present in Eris, she herself could not have claimed not to enjoy this particular activity. There was something particularly enjoyable about wielding knowledge over another canine, and perhaps later Enkiel would pay her back in kind.
