A Home to Call Our Own
#2
Aithne's red tongue lolled between her two knife-ish lower canines, saliva dripping from the tip. Her heart was seemingly pounding a hole in her chest, and her stomach fluttered with excitement. Suddenly and unexpectedly, the musty, earthy smell of wolf wafted into Aithne's nostrils. Not just one wolf, but many. Her heart jolted with excitement in her chest. The moon had completed many cycles since she was last in close proximity to a wolf pack. It was all she could do to exercise control over her overactive, adrenaline-induced muscles, and maintain her current brisk walk instead of breaking into a hurtling run. Through the tall, sun-scorched, yellow weeds, Aithne could see the feral, wild dance of a fire, and smell the musky scent of burning wood. She inhaled deeply, steeling her jumpy nerves, and pushed through the weeds and into the AniWaya camp.

*Note, this post is supposed to be of the day Aithne joined Aniwaya, which was September 4th, if I remember correctly. So you'll just have to pretend that this was posted on September 4th
