Xeris had never really paused to think about it, but life had gone back to the way it used to be for her. Before her children were born, that is. The white wolfess found herself arising early in the morning and wandering about the territory almost aimlessly. The kids were old enough to take care of themselves now, as much as she didn't want to admit it, and they were now going on their own explorations and bringing back their own tales of adventure and discovery. Xion had apparently discovered a cat in Halifax. Perhaps Xeris could learn some things from her children, not only about the rest of the world but about herself, too.

She was heading back in the direction of the cabin now, walking quietly on all fours through the fields of the Valley. For once she was able to relax. The feeling of her paws against the grass and the wind gently ruffling her fur was soothing. And though she still had worries aplenty, they lay forgotten in the corner of her mind at this moment.

It was not long, however, before her ears pricked forward at the sound of someone running. Looking around, she noticed something small moving somewhat closer to her. It took a moment for her to realize just what this something was, or rather who. Approaching slowly, she smiled as she looked upon the pack leader's son. It was odd to see him so far away from his mother; Xeris knew that Geneva had been very protective of him. "Hello Pripyat," she said as she got closer to him. "What are you doing all the way out here?"
