It was clearly the middle of the afternoon, and Anatoliy did not know why he had wandered off away from the pack; he would only get home in the dark when his father was already knocked out or out doing whatever the man did. The Russo did not have his father on a pedestal as high as it used to be, but the he did not want to know all the shenanigans that the man got up to - he still wanted a good image of his father. But still he wanted to get away from the packlands, even just for a moment. He had somehow managed to patch up his ear, though he would have a nick in it for the rest of his life, and the cut on his face. Around his arm was a bandage, another temporary souvenir from the "fight" with Niro. More damage had been done to Niro than to the Russian, though the American had already been injured when the much larger male had attacked him. Anatoliy was a bit guilt about further damaging the injuries that Niro had suffered, but he had been fighting for the Russo honor. Was that not acceptable?

But neither of those things were the reason he was moping about like a love starved puppy. Well, he was a love starved puppy, now, wasn't he? He had kissed Anann and that had confused him; he had not been sure what he had felt about the golden woman. But now, now the Russo almost understood exactly what the woman meant to him, but still he was unsure. The situation that had brought him closer to clarity felt awkward to him, and unexpected for Anann. To him, it seemed as though he may have blindsided her. No wonder she had not returned his kiss when he had given it, even if they both had a small amount of alcohol in their systems. But this was really why he moped. How could he talk to her? How could he look at her now without bursting from the embarrassment and shame?
