Going Hunting

Hunting was one of the more favorited sports for the young jackal. Sepirah always enjoyed having a good chase and then getting a reward out of it. In most cases, her reward was a simple meal, usually something small. Most of the time the dark princess spent time hunting into the lands of Inferni, but then it was no challenge. The chase was normally always the same because she knew her way around the pack lands. Today was going to be different. It was time for her to find a new place to hunt and a new place that would make hunting more of challenge, even if the prey was still small.

After a bit of roaming, Sepirah made her way to the waste. She knew Inferni controlled most of the territory, but there was also a part of this territory that was not controlled by the jolly band of coyotes. This unclaimed land would surely make a wonderful and exciting place to have a chase. As she moved along the rough stones, she came to the stretch of land and began to sniff around for some prey. At first there wasn’t much of scent, but that was alright. That just made hunting all the more exciting.

It wasn’t until around noon that she caught the scent of something. It was just a mouse, but now began the fun. The jackal crouched down and waited a moment before springing off her back feet and pouncing at the tiny creature. She caught the thing on her first try, but decided to play with it a bit before delievering the final blow. She nipped at the mouse’s tail and watched it begin the limp off. She gave a light hearted chuckle and then began to trot after the little thing. After a few more nips and chases, she grabbed onto the mouse’s neck and bit down hard. Sepirah couldn’t help but laugh as the blood began to trickle down her muzzle. That was the most fun she had hunting in a while.
