Kris! <3 By the way, this is total Seattle weather. D:

The weather had yet to figure out what exactly it wanted to do today. Light interwove between the gray clouds, providing the fringe with a blindingly yellow-white color. They rolled over the lands of Phoenix Valley, leaving dark patches of shadow in the crevices of the hills and brilliant highlights elsewhere. It mocked all elements of the weather. Never fully engaging on one side or the other, it left inhabitants to wonder over whether or not it was going to rain or shine. Nonetheless, it filtered a sense of snug and coziness into the Valley's resident Ranch.

Grace hadn't felt like doing much of anything on account of the weather. She meandered lackadaisical through room after room within the sturdy building. Normally accompanied by Addison, there would be a day's objective or goal in sight - but today had no such intention. Instead, the D'Angelo puppy was left to fend for herself for a few hours while her sister went and did other random things. This left Grace in a rather sour mood, and she made a statement by leaving a small blanket on her back as sign of her resentment of being left alone.

So there she trudged, fueled by pure bitterness and restlessness that plagued her on a depressed day. The girl had yet to develop any real sense of angsty emotions, and yet she was deep in her own display of them. Nothing really seemed to make her look up until she hit the library. Glancing upward, she had to do a double take. Millions (or what seemed to the child as millions) of books seemed to be stacked precariously on top of each other, shoved inside of wooden boxes that housed them, and left open for wandering eyes to see. She couldn't help but be swayed by the sheer magnitude and presence that this room had upon her, and before she could help it her voice overcame her.
