His opponent moved in tandem with him and as Hybrid moved, so did Silas. The other canine’s icy blue eyes did not waver and Hybrid cursed his focus. He snarled when Silas began to laugh, annoyed that the mutt had stolen his laugh. He was the one who was supposed to laugh and he was the one who was supposed to intimidate his opponent. He seethed when Silas questioned him and then tried to insult him. Hybrid rolled his eyes; the canine’s retort wasn’t very snappy. It was clear already he was no mutt and it was obvious by his rank that he was indeed worthy of respect. While submission for rank was never required in Inferni, Hybrid was struck with the notion. He needed to humiliate this fucking Syemv scum and then rip him apart.

“Submit,” he replied. “I am above you in rank. Submit or I will attack.” Archaic rules that preceded the luperci: it was perfect. As a creature that thrived on tradition and consistency, Hybrid could appreciate this old standard. He grinned wickedly, letting his cruel intentions colour his expression.
